We usually cook fish at home in almost always the same ways. Today, however, we have a delicious alternative to classic fish recipes for breaking routines: hake-shrimp rolls in green sauce. Simple and tasty! Making dumplings from fish, and hake in particular, may seem complicated, but following our guidelines you will find that it is not very difficult.

This is how you make hake-shrimp beans in a green sauce

Hake-shrimp beans in green sauce are not only delicious but also very nutritious. Fish is an excellent source of essential omega-3 fatty acids,  which are needed to fight cardiovascular disease and are also good for brain health. Parsley in green sauce, on the other hand, is rich in antioxidants as well as vitamins C, K and A, folic acid and iron.

It is important to remember the sauce before starting the main recipe, as it is placed on top of the dumplings. Part of the contrast and extra flavor in the recipe comes from this mixture of chopped herbs and olive oil. 


  • 2 stems chives or green onions
  • 125 ml of white wine
  • 250 ml of vegetable broth
  • 2 pinches ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley


  1. Put a tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Cut the green onions into small pieces and place them in a pan.
  3. Add a pinch of salt and stir with a wooden spoon.
  4. When the onions are translucent,  pour in the white wine and let all the alcohol evaporate.
  5. Add a tablespoon of fresh parsley.
  6. Add the vegetable broth and cover with a lid, lower the temperature and  let simmer for 10 minutes with the rest of the ingredients.

  • 2 boneless hake fillets (approximately 375 g in total)
  • 10 fresh shrimps (about 250 g)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 lemon peel
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons chickpea flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground fennel
  • 2 teaspoons chopped garlic
  • 1 pinch of ground cumin

This is how you make hake-shrimp beans in a green sauce

  1. First, clean the hake fillets thoroughly. Remove any remaining bones and skin.
  2. Use the fillets in a food processor  (this will give the best possible result), and do the same for the shrimp.
  3. Next, add the lemon zest, chopped garlic, salt and pepper.
  4. Gradually add the following ingredients: chopped parsley, ground fennel and cheese gum powder.
  5. Then  add egg yolk  and chickpea flour. Mix everything well until you get a uniform and even dough.
  6. The dough should have the right composition  so you can shape it into dumplings with your hands.
  7. Pour the rest of the chickpea flour into a separate bowl and roll the dough balls in it.
  8. Fry the rolls in a Teflon pan in olive oil until golden brown.
  9. If you want a slightly lighter meal, place the rolls on a baking sheet and in the oven at 170 degrees Celsius for about 20 minutes.
  10. Place on a plate and serve with the side dish of your choice and green sauce.
